Aura…. What in the heck is that, anyway?

All living and non-living things emit vibrations known as auras.  Every being emits an aura that is the qi field of their body.  The ancient texts of many faith and beliefs depict the gods and goddesses with a halo around their head.  This is nothing but their aura.  It is believed that the auras are the electro-photonic vibrations of various frequencies and are related to our conscious activities like thoughts, emotions, etc.  The aura around living beings keeps changing and around non-living things is stationary.  You may wonder why non-living things have auras… because they are energy… everything is energy…. The non-living is still energy – thus having an auric field – although it will be non-changing.

Everyone has an aura.  Everyone has already seen or experienced the auric field of others.  The problem is that most people ignore the experience or chalk it up to something that it is not.  Mystics from all parts of the world speak of seeing lights around people’s heads, but you do not have to be a mystic to see the aura.  Anyone can learn to see and experience the aura more effectively.  There is nothing magical about the process.  It involves recognizing it for what it is and not ignoring the experience.  It simply involves a little understanding, time, practice and perseverance.

Children are very good at seeing and experiencing the aura.  Those experiences are often translated into their drawing.  Around the figures, they will shade in unusual and different colors.  These colors often reflect the subtle energies they have observed around what they are drawing.

Have you experienced the auric energy field?

  1. When you are around some people do you feel drained?
  2. Do you associate certain colors with people? (For example… you always seem like a yellow person to me?
  3. Have you ever felt when someone was staring at you?
  4. Have you ever been able to sense how someone is feeling, in spite of how this person was acting?
  5. Do certain sounds, colors and fragrances make you feel more comfortable or uncomfortable?
  6. Do you find that some people excite or energize you more than others?
  7. Are some rooms more comfortable and enjoyable to be in than others/ so you notice the difference in one room from the next? Did you ever notice how your brother’s/sister’s room feels different from yours?

The human aura is the energy field that surrounds the physical body.  It surrounds you in all directions.  It is three dimensional.  In a healthy individual, it makes an elliptical or egg shape about the body.  I have heard it said that the auras of the ancient masters could extend outward from the body for several miles.  It is often believed that this is one of the reasons they could draw such large numbers of followers in any area where they traveled.  It is worth noting that a common depiction of many masters included the halo, a portion of the aura that is most easily seen by the average individual.

The aura is weakened by:

  • Poor diet
  • Lack of exercise
  • Lack of fresh air
  • Lack of rest
  • Stress
  • Alcohol
  • Drugs
  • Tobacco
  • Negative habits
  • Improper psychic activity…
  • Bad or no boundaries

The auric field is usually filled with colors… color can be constructive or destructive.  It can stimulate or depress, repel or attract.  It can even be male or female in its character.  It can reflect positive or negative and when perceived within the aura it provides a key to the personality, moods, maturity and health of the individual.  It takes a great deal of practice to interpret the color shakes seen with the aura.  Each color has its general characteristic, but each shade of that color changes the characteristic.  The location of the color, the intensity and even the form the color takes in the auric field must be considered.  The most important thing I can tell you is that interpretation is totally subjective…. And… that auric colors can change as rapidly as the mood of a person changes.  I have seen about as many charts and as many definitions as people writing them.  I suggest to you that if you have an interest in this area… find a couple of good guides, do some googling or binging or yahooing… collect a bunch of information and make your own guide that feels right to you.

 Just a little exercise:

To see your own aura, stand in front of a mirror with a plain white or neutral colored wall behind you.  The lighting should not be bright and a little dim is even better.

Looking into the mirror, focus on the wall reflected just above your head for about 30 to 60 seconds.  You could choose to focus on the middle of your forehead as another option.  With your peripheral vision, you will now be able to see a whitish area expanding out from the body about 1 to 3 inches.  This is the inner or etheric auric field.  If you are having trouble seeing this field, just keep focusing on the area above the hear.  It is with the peripheral vision that you are also able to see colors in the auric field.  Use the same technique while looking at yourself in the mirror or wile looking at others.  Make sure you have a neutral background behind the person you are looking at.  For some, it takes a little practice before they could see any color.  Honestly, this works, but it does take patience and practice.

Tomorrow’s blog: aura continued with a little on auric colors explaining the spiritual side of a person.

Why not go see if you can see your auric field doing the mirror exercise… it does work….

  1. Great post. The Aura exercises do work, however I tend to have trouble perceiving color all the time, but I can usually see the size.
I also agree that non-living things have Aura’s since they are energy. However I think that the energy can be changed over long periods of time, or by energetic impression left there by strong events.
Do Auras of non-living things get impacted by strong energetic events, or time, or is that just energetic impressions that are left?

  2. Guess I’ll have to find a friend who might like to learn, too? I wonder if I could practice by myself observing people in church or a meeting? A meeting where someone is experiencing changing emotions might work, yes?
